Paizley's One Year Portrait Session

It is hard to believe that it has been a whole year since I first met Paizley as a teeny tiny newborn baby during her lifestyle newborn session. Time does fly when you are having fun, and my gosh is it too stinking true that babies just don't keep!! Sometimes it just doesn't feel fair how quickly we lose the little person they were just weeks ago to the also amazing little person they became since.

As Paizley's first birthday approached, her momma reached out to me to commemorate her turning one. We had originally planned to be outside for a portion of her portraits, but the Tennessee weather had other thoughts in mind. It was just way too cold and windy to even think about. So instead, I offered to set up my studio backdrop in my "under construction" basement. Thankfully I know Paizley's momma well and she did not at all mind the change of plans, nor judge the condition of my basement 😅

I set up using my new Savage Seamless backdrop in "pure white" in front of the big sliding glass patio door. I decided to compliment the natural light with my DigiBee Flash 400 and my 86" PLM to diffuse.

Paizley brought along a few outfits, her xylophone, snacks, and adorable tiny cupcakes. The xylophone was a great addition and distraction during her session, as of course were the snacks. We jammed to Alicia Keys "No One", which is her favorite song. There is nothing so adorable as a tiny little body getting down to their favorite jam. Paizley finished by enjoying her first taste of cupcakes in front of the camera!

Of course I had to share a few of my favorites from her newborn session in this post too 😍 Pink is definitely her color!
