Are winter photo sessions your thing? Do photo worthy moments still happen in the cold?

In my opinion, which this is my blog so I reckon I'm allowed to share it :), Y E S!

I document my own family and children even in the cold season, so I think I should do the same for yours! Couples keep loving, babies are born, and kids keep growing even when the weather is less than desirable.

How?

Think a snowy outdoor session where the family is bundled up in their best winter gear. Hats, scarves, mittens, the whole works. You snuggle and play in the snow, just like you would a normal session through the grass. Snow is magical in itself. Its a beautiful clean backdrop in nature. Add in some adorable family or couples moments and its magic on steroids. Its the perfect reason for couples to snuggle up together for those tender moments. Its also the perfect canvas for playful shots. Snow tends to bring out the youth and joy in almost everyone. Snow is also a natural reflector, creating beautiful light and skin tones for all my subjects.

At the end of the day, snow or no snow, I love the warmth and joy that beams through snuggly family photos on a cold day.

Is snow really not your thing?

That's okay too! Lets talk about an in-home session.

In home sessions are honestly a lot of fun, and it's often much easier to get kids, or anyone nervous in front of the camera, to open up in the comfort of home. These type of sessions are lifestyle focused on documenting you and your loved one(s), including fur babies!, doing

Are you worried about having to have your home just perfect in order to create print worthy art? You don't need to be, and I can help. We only need a few de-cluttered spaces to work in. I will help with the planning and even the moving and rearranging. I will also help you put it all back! If there's not quite enough natural light in your home or we end up shooting on a dreary day, I bring along my 7' umbrella with strobe to mimic beautiful natural light.

What will we do in an in-home lifestyle session?

Think snuggling on the couch, tickle fest, pillow fights, baking cookies, building lego towers, playing with favorite toys, reading a favorite book as a family. The list is endless and there is something to be found for everyone in a home-based session. Kids jumping on mom and dad's bed honestly make for some gorgeous images. I'll share a few of my own kiddos below.
